Cellers Puig i Roca is based near El Vendrell on the southern end of the Penedès plain. The star of their production is this Chardonnay, fermented and aged in Nevers oak barrels for five months. The wine has a creamy texture on the palate, whilst unusually for vines so close to the sea in this part of the lower Penedès, it is balanced with good acidity and citric notes to go with the riper more Mediterranean flavours. Annual production is around 37,000 numbered bottles.
The arch emblem on the label is a reproduction of the "Arc de Barà" on the old Roman Via Augusta near the cellar at El Vendrell.
